Occasionally applications crash or hang inside of Windows. This fact of IT probably doesn't come as a surprise, but recovery inside of a Remote Desktop or Citrix-based session is different than what users might be used to for a local computer.
Recovery is slightly different depending on if the hosted desktop is Server 2008R2 (Windows 7 look and feel), Server 2012R2 (Windows 8.1 look and feel), Server 2016 (Windows 10 look and feel).

- Select the option for Start Task Manager.
- Select the Applications tab.
- Find the application listed as Not Responding or that is having issues, left-click once to highlight it, and select the End Task button.
