Billing Info
Mutare is a vendor that offers voicemail transcription services and easily functions utilizing the Broadsoft platform. Voicemails are sent as a WAV file to Mutare for transcription, then the voicemail is returned to the user via email with the inclusion of a text transcription of the message and the audio WAV file as an attachment.

Step 2: To add new users, select the appropriate “system” from the drop down menu at the top right of the portal. The system under which you create a given user is dependent on the following rules:

Step 3: Populate the user information in the blank field at the bottom of the page. This should be filled in as follows:
- Mailbox = the user’s Broadsoft ID
- EVM Pwd = leave this blank
- User Mailbox ID = the user’s full VM box ID as listed on Broadsoft and a name identifier. These fields need to be separated by the vertical line character; it’s right above the “enter” key on your keyboard.
- Sample: |61055551212|TUser|
- Full Name = The user’s full name AND their enterprise in parenthesis. This helps us find users for a given enterprise if we ever need to search.
- GMT = The time difference as related to Greenwich Mean Time. For reference, EST is -5, CST is -6, MST is -7, and PST is -8.
- Device Group = Set to Evolve IP
When finished, click the “add” button. To remove a user entirely, click the “delete” button
Step 4: To finish the configuration, you need to find the user you just created and enable their services. Using the “search” box at the top of the page, locate the desired user and click “view” next to their profile. The below window will open.
Values are to be populated as follows:
- Device Type = Evolve IP
- Check the “active” box directly below item A.
- Populate the user’s email address where prompted.
- You can enable a test by clicking the “test” button on the right.
Step 5: Goto the BroadSoft User's Voicemail settings.
Update 'When a message arrives - send to email - and populate with the following email address:
works2.stt@mutaresoftware.com if the UserID that is a Direct Dial Number
works3.stt@mutaresoftware.com if the UserID is Extension Only
works4.stt@mutaresoftware.com if the mailbox is assigned to an Auto Attendant, Hunt Group, or Call Center Queue

Product Definition
The vendor calls the product gist. This product MUST have expectations set properly. The goal is for users to get the ‘gist’ of the message from the voicemail scribe. In a completely automated method, the voicemail scribe will not be 100%. The level of accuracy varies based on the clarity of the message being left. Expectations will be set with documentation on how to improve the accuracy and convey the level of accuracy to the customer in both the sales process and provisioning process.
This application is purchased directly from Mutare, not the Broadsoft Marketplace.
Business Rules
- Users must be Standard or Premium users with a voicemail box for voicemail scribe
- Max transcription length is 60 seconds
- A general voicemail box may be setup with voicemail scribe, those are: hunt groups, auto-attendants, and call centers.
FAQs
- Do users need to be Premium seats?
- No. Standard users may have the voicemail scribe product.
- I left a test voicemail and did not receive a transcription. Please check your junk mail / spam filter for the message from giSTT@mutare.com
- Can I add voicemail transcription to a general mailbox?
- Yes. No voicemail should sit waiting in a mailbox hoping someone reads it. We can transcribe and deliver to a mailbox or distribution list.
- Why does my user have this email address in their voicemail profile works2.stt@mutaresoftware.com?
- Voicemail scribe is a 3rd party application resold by Evolve IP. The vendor, Mutare, is able to transcribe messages that are configured to send voicemail messages to that email address. Any user setup with voicemail scribe needs to send voicemail WAV files to that address.
- I received a message that states the voicemail scored too low. What should I do?
- Listen to the message- you still have the WAV file. The message scored too low because either the message was too short (less than 6 seconds) OR spoke too poorly to transcribe.
- The end of my transcription has “…..”. What does that mean?
- The message was longer than 60 seconds. Listen to the WAV file for the rest of the message.
- Do I need to provide this feature all my users?
- No. You can purchase for only the users that will take advantage of the service.
