How to Reset a Broadsoft User SIP Authentication Password

the SIP auth password is a 20 character password that is associated with a BroadSoft UserID.
It allows an endpoint (Softphone or Deskphone) to authenticate with the Evolve UCaaS platform for inbound/outbound VoIP calls.
Navigate to the
Telephony Setup
>
Users
menu in OSSmosis 5
Locate the user by scrolling or searching at the top by name, phone number, or extension
Right-click on the user and select
Reset Password(s)
You can check the box next to 'Generate Random SIP Authentication Key' and obtain it from the Provisioning Status Menu
You can also type in a new SIP Authentication Key in the text box
If the password entered does not meet the rules and requirements a question mark icon will appear. Hovering over it will show the password rules
If you generated a random password. Go to the
Provisioning > Provisioning Status
menu to obtain the new SIP authentication password
Click on the 3-dot menu next to the password update task and select
View Task Details
.
The most recent task is always at the top
Click the down arrow next to
users Expand to view 1 users
to view the password
The
SipAuthPassword
will be the randomly generated password for this user.
You can also Download or Email an Excel spreadsheet file that contains all of the listed values associated with the BroadSoft User Seat.
