It is possible to take a Full Clone from a desktop pool and use it as a Template for a new Desktop Pool

Step-by-step guide

 

  1. Place the VDI in Maintenance Mode and Power Down
  2. Create a clone of the VDI
  3. Disconnect the NIC of the new Template
  4. Power on the new Template
  5. Uninstall the n-able agent
  6. Disjoin the new Template from the Active Directory Domain and Restart

  7. Log back in and DELETE this Registry key (just the key, you do not have to delete the whole folder

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\VMware, Inc.\Guest Customization\CustomizationInProgress
