Sometimes users may want to share screens with one another for the purpose of training and quality control.  dvmCLOUD, blueprintCLOUD, and continuumCLOUD allow any user to perform this function with Windows Remote Assistance.

Follow these steps to initiate a request (screen to be shared):

  1. Open the Remote Assistance program from the icon on your desktop.

If the icon does not exist, open the search bar and type "msra" and click on the msra.exe program to launch it.

  2. Click on the option to Invite Someone You Trust to Help You.

  3. Typically, it will be appropriate to select the option to Save This Invitation as a File.
  4. Save the RA Invitation file in a place the user who will control the screen has access (i.e. the T:\public folder is usually a good place).
  5. When the other user requests the password, give them password appearing in the Windows Remote Assistance window.

Follow these steps to access the request:

  1. Open the Microsoft Remote Assistance program (see step 1, above).
  2. Select the option to Help Someone Who Has Invited You.
  3. Select the option to Use an Invitation File.
  4. Find and open the file the user saved in Step 4 above.
  5. Enter the password as provided by the user obtained in Step 5 above.

  6. Once the session is established, use the Remote Control or chat options as needed.
